This is me
I have dreamed of becoming a writer since I was about 15, in fact I can pin point when it first started. When a friend of the family tragically passed away at the age of 11 I took to writing poetry in order to process my feelings. 2 of these poems were published in books and I felt an enormous sense of pride. This led to other forms of writing, stories that allowed me to vent my emotions without hurting anyone or doing anything I would regret. Back then I started a book but after what can only be described as a major disaster (my computer crashed) I lost it all. At that age I just didn't possess the discipline necessary to start again. I became distracted by the same things as most teenage girls, boys, hair, make up etc, and allowed my dream to fall to the wayside.
After a failed marriage I decided it was time to find myself again and with that came writing. The more I wrote the more I fell in love with it all over again. My dream had been rekindled and numerous stories began to form inside my mind, in fact it is fair to say that I now spend much of my time in a complete dream world. So I took a good look at the stories in my head and eventually I picked one and worked hard to turn the basic idea that had first come to me into a book worthy of reading. Now I am proud to have finally achieved at least the first part of my goal, to publish a book. And I am proud of the book itself.
May it be the first of many.
